When it comes to LAW ENFORCEMENT & PROSECUTION of CRIMINAL PREDATORS, Washington DC is in just one word: STRANGE.
When I was criminally assaulted in 2011 in DC, the “responding MPD officer” asked me the NAME & ADDRESS of the thug.
When I told him that I never saw the criminal, as he hit me from behind repeatedly with a piece of lumber & took my good watch, the LEO folded up his clipboard & started to leave.
I asked WHY he was leaving & he said that the District government cannot afford to investigate “stranger on stranger crimes”, when the victim is NOT a DC resident.
I found out the next Monday that the MPD officer did NOT even file a report on the assault, battery & “strong arm” robbery. - Thus OFFICIALLY, I was NOT assaulted.
Note: There is a decision of the SCOTUS that police HAVE NO RESPONSIBILTY to come to the aid of any individual victim.
(The case involved the failure of MPD to save 2 women from a Home Invasion Robbery & at least 2 vicious RAPES, despite at least FOUR calls to the 9-1-1 dispatch center.)
(I later found out that had my facial/neck injuries NOT been so obvious to the naked eye, that the insurance company could have REFUSED to pay for my medical treatments and/or for my lost days of work.)
