Lightfoot successfully lied her way through the mayoral election and posed as a “moderate” in opposition to the openly reverse racist Preckwinkle. Once in office, however, Lightfoot dropped her masquerade and went full Communist.
Representative government only works, when the people who DON'T work don't get to vote for goodies for themselves.
200 years ago, in most states, you only got to vote if you were a property owner of some sort, which still included 80% of the people.
