Nancy Pelosi, after what seems to be over hundred years in office, is bent on removing eleven Confederate statues from the US Capitol.
In a letter sent on Wednesday, Pelosi asked the Joint Committee on the Library led by Senate Rules and Administration Chairman Roy Blunt, a Missouri Republican, and House Administration Chairwoman Zoe Lofgren, a California Democrat to direct the Architect of the Capitol to remove the statues of soldiers and officials who represent the Confederacy. They're all democrats, BTW.Pelosi specifically mentioned two prominent Confederates Jefferson Davis and Alexander Stephens who served as president and vice president of the Confederate States of America, respectively, and who were charged with treason against the United States. Stephens statue was given by Georgia and Davis by Mississippi.
Additionally, she is removing Confederate portraits as well
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday ordered the removal of four portraits in the Capitol of previous House Speakers who served in the Confederacy.Well, while y'all are removing statues, what about the one above? The move marks Pelosi's latest effort to take down Confederate imagery in the Capitol, following her push last week calling for the removal of 11 Confederate statues displayed in the Capitol complex.
"We didn't know about this until we were taking inventory of the statues and the curator told us that there were four paintings of Speakers in the Capitol of the United States, four Speakers who had served in the Confederacy," Pelosi told reporters in the Capitol.
The statue is of Robert Byrd, former Senator from West Virginia. The man was a racist by anyone's standards.
The guy was a library of racism

The racist Byrd was lionized by democrats
When Byrd died in 2010, he had served in the Senate longer than anyone else; the New York Times described him as "a pillar of Capitol Hill." In a statement, then-President Barack Obama called him "a voice of principle and reason." Biden said Byrd was "a dear friend."Byrd was an "Exalted Cyclops" in the Ku Klux Klan.
If there ever was a statue that screamed for removal, it's Byrd's.
Your move, Pelosi.
PS
The Confederate statue dedicated by Pelosi's father was taken down 3 years ago. Her father, Mayor of Baltimore, had this to say at its dedication:

Elected to the post because of his KKK recruiting efforts.
I believe the statue of Lenin in Seattle is privately owned and is own privately owned land. It was purchased after the fall of the Soviet Bloc and originally stood outside a factory in one of the countries of Eastern Europe. It is seen by the residents surrounding that spot as more of a kitsch or camp item and from what Ive read is routinely vandalized with paint, especially for special occasions including the annual Nude Bike Ride, the route of which carries the protesters right past it. Perhaps someone with more accurate information could update us all on its origins and status...
That statue’s in Seattle, right? IIRC...Seattle voted over 90% for Hillary
.
Pelosi colluding with covering up Hillary Clintons Treason and many other Crimes.
I can see every monument/name-mention of Pelosi being pulled down some day.
.
A little late now isn’t it? AND what do you think they are going to destroy when the statues are gone? Maybe they can just go from house to house eating your food and killing whites with impunity. Family after family gone. Who is going to stop them? I guess because they are angry they have every right according to our leaders. The more angry the more they feel they are justified.
In Confederate uniform cinematography.
Senator
Not a Senator, but he rides his own horse.
What a beautiful piece of machinery!!! Thanks for posting it!!!
“Jefferson Davis and Alexander Stephens ... and who were charged with treason against the United States.”
I believe he has the distinction of being the last person convicted of treason and the only one executed. His name was William Bruce Mumford.
But of course today, what is important is “truths” rather than facts.
This “Big Boy”used to belong to the train museum located on the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds in Pomona, CA where my son and I were members back in the nineties. Union Pacific bought it and moved it to the UP steam yards in Wyoming where they restored it. Earlier this year UP ran it on tour over the UP tracks.
One or two generations from now, they'll still be lagging behind because many lack the strong family and moral foundations to succeed. Why is it that immigrants from Asia and the Middle East - who also "don't look like white Americans" have succeeded when blacks can't?!
Exactly. Why is that SOB here in the US with a monument?
I prefer the Victims of Communism monument in DC.
But Id bet thats been vandalized by now.
P,ease dont vandalize a Big Boy! Love those huge locos.
No, please no.
I lived in Pomona for a few years - during the time UP 4014 was on display there - and never made it to the fairgrounds.
I would love to see it run some day. A buddy of mine in Utah was in Ogden for its arrival during its first run.
So do I. But for all my love of steam locos, my model railroad relies on diesel power. Good steamers are expensive in N scale...
Still doesn’t stop me from lusting over Kato’s SP 4449 though.
I miss that Big Boy. Shoneys as well as Bobs.
Burning images of Nasty Pelosi in public might be fun.
This statue of Lenin is unblemished, and still stands, in an American city???? What the heck?????
