You wouldn’t have to. Truckers have no shortage of work opportunities. They can pick and chose what they want to do. Why run the risk,of damage to your rig or lose valuable time and money stuck in a riot situation? Too many other safer and more profitable jobs out there for them.
There is a shortage here in CA. On of my fellow Knights of C is a truck driver and the industry needs more. The good thing is due to shortage he picks his rates (which is higher) , and his routes.
There was a time 2 weeks ago and the company said “Washington state”. He simply asked “where in Wa.?” and it took a lot of prodding to say Seattle. He knows a lot of truckers dont go to major cities nowadays and for good reason.
