Is he ... "always spot on" ...???

The University of Dayton History Department Newsletter No. 5 (aka "Book Nook") from 2002.

Larry's "Book Nook" book review article of Stinnett's "Day of Deceit" -

Opening paragraph is:

"This is a difficult review to write for a number of reasons, especially for a historian not enamored with Franklin D. Roosevelt and his welfare policies, which were, in retrospect, disastrous. Nevertheless, while FDR is guilty of many sins, 'setting up' the 7th U.S. Fleet at Pearl Harbor in 1941 to slip the United States into war through the "back door" is not one of them."

So, Larry, Larry, ... is that verbiage yours?

See anything amiss? You, a historian as stressed, should know better. But thank you for displaying your true lack of depth.

Oh, ... when did the nomenclature "7th U.S. Fleet" come into being?

Uh, FDR did move the Pacific fleet from San Diego to Pearl Harbor in 1940.

As for the Seventh Fleet, it was formed in 1943 from the Southwest Pacific Force. See https://www.c7f.navy.mil/Subs-and-Squadrons/

If LS got that wrong, that’s a pathetic detail complaint on a survey history.
