The mob is a tactic to destabilize our country... and to weaken our economy.
But because they're up against Trump it won't work. The people behind this (fairly small numbers - a mile wide and an inch deep) are probably pulling their hair out. They not only shot their wad early, but it's it's falling apart...
We are 'doing something' - we're turning mobs into 'peaceful boring' protesters. We mildly mock them and their antics while actively supporting the arrest of the cop who killed Floyd. That takes the air out of their balloon. And shores up the concept of justice. Yes, we will turn this over to the courts - as we should etc etc etc..
Which is the opposite of the goals of the people behind this...
