One of our friends who still lives in Sacramento got a reverse 911 call advising her to avoid Florin Road at Greenhaven Drive as a protest is supposed to start there at 5pm Pacific Time - or about 30 minutes from now.
This is an upscale suburban neighborhood where Mayor Darrell Steinberg and several other well off people live in a gated community called Riverlake.
I don't see anything in the news just yet so I am posting this as 'Bloggers and Personal' and until it is confirmed please just take this as an advisory or a caution to FReepers who might be near that area.
Be safe!
Megan
Prayers for your Friends Megan
They might raid the Nugget market there on the corner, but for the most part it will be peaceful.
There more guns in that neighborhood that in the entire Sac PD.
Saw on twitter that AGAIN on Sunday they will have another “Protest” at Pan Pacific Park in the Fairfax District..guess they will be back to the looting, even though there is nothing left in that area to steal
Supposed to be down the street a little farther, near the mayor’s house.
Single family residential area.
Pretty sure that everyone will behave.
Thank you, Tom!
KFBK 1530 AM ***CONFIRMS*** this report!
Reverse 911? So 911 called them?
Meg what is a reverse 911 call?
Coincidentally my daughter-in-law Meggan lives in Sac with my son and grandkids. East of downtown.
I sued to work near Franklin andFflorin and live in EG many friends in the pocket.,
Reverse 911 allows the police to call everyone in an area during an emergency.
The protest in Sacramento in the Pocket Area is now breaking up. Hopefully the protesters leave peacefully.
Thanx that’s our alert system
I checked in and found out that the protesters left the neighborhood peacefully. Thank God for that!
Great News Megan Dear :)
