People who are old, overweight, or dark skinned have lower vitamin D levels. This can be corrected with supplementation.

There have been several studies which show that most patients with serious COVID-19 are vitamin D deficient or insufficient: a Louisiana study, a University of Southeastern Philippines study, and an Indonesian study.

I firmly believe that we must urge everyone (and especially those who belong to a vulnerable group) to optimalize their level of vitamin D. The optimal level of vitamin D is 40-60 ng/mL or 100-150 nmol/L. Then, the death rate of COVID-19 will decrease substantially, and people won’t be afraid any more.
