Nope. He was only shot after he attacked and was grappling for control of the gun. At that point, he was no longer “unarmed”.

Thefts at construction sites are very common. Could be Arbury was “casing the joint” looking for tools or anything he could easily flip. Where we lived they were even stealing window mounted air conditioners from peoples’ homes when scrap metal, especially copper prices went up.
I am observing my own rule of waiting 72 hrs to comment on similar incidents (esp. racially charged).
That's what I've been posting from the beginning of all of this. I just normally wouldn't rush a guy with a shotgun. Better to let the police get there and sort it all out. Now, if the guy was killing everyone in sight with the shotgun and had me cornered, well, no choice but to try to rush him. Don't think this incident fits that description.

Zimmerman wasn’t even attempting an arrest. He was part of a voluntary security patrol and he had called the police while he observed something he thought was suspicious.
He got assaulted after the thug’s girlfriend told he to beat that “creepy ass cracker”. Zimmerman was defending himself as his head was being bashed against the pavement.

Someone HAD called the police. Was it the homeowner who’s security camera captured the trespass of the neighboring property?
Was it the neighbor who pursued the suspect and used his phone to video him fleeing down the street?
Did the family with the weapon and truck pass the suspect on the road or were they down the street when they stopped to ask him some questions upon his arrival?
Did the family with the weapon grab it and race out of their home or did they have it in the vehicle already?
Did the videographer commit any crime? If so, what?

Correct. He was simply on a neighborhood approved watch and followed protocol by calling the police about Martin scoping out a number of homes. The police told Zimmerman to stop following Martin, and he did so. He was walking back to his car when the Skittles thug jumped him from behind. While getting his head bashed in on the sidewalk (we all saw the wounds), it was a clear case of justifiable self-defense homicide. That's why Zimmerman was acquitted.
So IOW the shotgun was “at the ready” and not at all concealed. And yes I know it’s difficult to conceal a shotgun. Why was he standing in the road with a shotgun in his hands? Did he need to do this?
I’m thinking the perp would have just run past them absent the threat of being shot at but we do not know what was being said - no audio. Why would he have run at the man with the shotgun unless he himself percieved a threat? Why did he change course and run to the right side of the truck?
I need to review the vid again if any body can provide a link.
