Three sections of linear algebra? By one instructor? I’m guessing it was pretty watered down.

The problem in America is .... too many government indoctrinated (where did they become THAT, I wonder) ... people have become embedded into the fabric of our culture and it will take a drastic sweeping of our lives .... friends, neighbors, employers, politicians and a ton of peripheral et cetera's, to become clean of this evil.

Ironic, is it not, that one of the few remaining true academic areas in our formerly respected universities is being negatively affected by folks who deserve no respect whatsoever.

I really think that the STEM departments should pull a UK and split from the the the IU (Idiot’s Union) which currently infects our universities.

Even my esteemed graduate university is thoroughly infected by these folks who wouldn’t even have qualified as janitors years back.

Hopefully, the humanities departments will wake up and do a thorough cleaning and disinfecting and return to their former position of respect.

“adjunct faculty member”

Your job’s on the line right there.

“the myth of meritocracy”

Don’t you go to college to improve yourself? Gain knowledge? Increase your “merit”?

I would fail so hard in todays university setting.

The left are very bad people, just as you wouldn’t see a movie today sympathetic to the nazis. The left are today’s nazis. When they can, they will kill dissenters.

It was a passive aggressive move of microaggression by a Leftist to place those tracts in the lounge.

Wonder what the snowflakes think about microaggressions now that a true killer aggression in the form of Wuhan virus has happened?

I think describing Hiers’s opinion as “stupid” would be considered a really big micro-aggression.

Schmidt said that he decided to fire Hiers because he refused to recant his opposition to the microaggression idea.

He has good company on recantation...

The entire concept of 'microaggressions' is pure pschycobabble to start with, designed to put people who aren't mentally imbalanced on the defensive.

Anyone who actually thinks that “being forced to choose Male or Female when completing basic forms” is some sort of painful experience needs to be locked up in a rubber room, not catered to.

Those who refuse to understand that math is racist are likely to wind up in re-education camps.

A word to the wise is sufficient.

What should be done....though of course it will never happen.....is that state boards of regents and the like should categorize diversity of thought as part of required diversity. That of course means Leftists need not apply to Academic positions for many years until American universities have a faculty whose worldviews reflect those of the American people rather than those of Marxists - cultural and traditional.

Gonna be interesting when a student feels micro-agressed by a “right” angle.

More and more it’s time for people to understand Aaron Zelman:

”If every German Jew and anti-Nazi had possessed a Mauser rifle, twenty rounds and the will to use it, Adolf Hitler would be a footnote to the history of the Weimar Republic.”

and Alexander Solzhenitsyn:

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”

Liberal academics at the University of Tennessee couldn’t justify the liberal arts classes so they put the degrees of Microbiology and other sciences into the B.A. program and after four years one received a B.A. instead of a B.S. Because those disciplines were in the B.A. program the administration required those students to take a certain number of liberal arts courses. Ridiculous. I lacked two of these liberal arts courses to receive degrees in Microbiology, Biology, Zoology, and a minor in Biochemistry. I filled in two science courses instead of a liberal class instead.
