I’m closer to a Mary than the male survivalist, and not just because I’m a woman.

I thought the stereotype was a total joke until the Wuhan virus discussions on my neighborhood social media site reflected the outrageous posts shared on social media. It is easy to find silly/crazy crap out of three hundred million people posting all the time.

My local community includes:
* report kids on play dates in each others’ yards, though they may have been coughed on each other for weeks nonstop
* OMG, there are too many people on the roads, NO ONE should be driving
* if you let your kids play outside during all this, you should be reported to CPS
* the SCHOOL DISTRICT putting locks on swings to prevent people from swinging on them

I had hesitation letting my son play in the pool, but that’s due to temperatures, not fear for his safety much less the coronavirus. I let him try to jump in several days in a row, because it is at least something to do.

We may live in the same neighborhood! It's bordering on Munich,1933 around here. You walk outside to get your mail and suddenly you hear the slapping sound of wooden blinds closing all around. I think some of them sleuth around garbage cans late at night to make sure there are no Macy's bags or birthday party remnants lurking. I fear brown shirts are soon to be the new fashion must have..*😳*
