CNN's Acosta: You'd Think The President Would Be Humble After "Being Wrong So Many Times"
RCP video ^ | 4-4-2020 | Ian Schwartz

CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta said President Trump is not grasping the reality that he has been wrong and the scientists have been right in commentary delivered Friday night on CNN. Acosta said while Trump blames the Obama administration for not having a stockpile of medical equipment he has had 3 years to restock.

"This administration did not prepare when it had a chance," Acosta said.

(snip)

Acosta: I think, as Sanjay was saying, we don't know what we don't know. And, you know, you would think, at this point, Anderson, the president would be humbled somewhat by being wrong so many times. I pressed him, you know, at one point, I said it's April. You said this was going to be over by April. And he says well it is going to be over. He's just not dealing with the reality of the fact that he's been wrong, and the scientists and the health experts have been right. And he just can't grasp that reality.

COOPER: Jim, let's talk about the supply problem because, clearly, there is a supply chain issue here that's been longstanding now. The president blaming previous administrations for lack of supplies, and there's certainly blame to go around. There's an argument that after I think it was the swine flu, I think, 2009 or 2009 pandemic that they didn't restock some of the -- the stockpiles.

But that was, you know, ten years ago. This administration has had several years and warnings, we now know, about a pandemic just like this one to stock up and supply and -- and they haven't.

First, Acosta and Cooper are beyond any parody can achieve in the level of self-unawareness.

Second, anybody thinks US is willfully unprepared for pandemic can THANK Obamacare.

Looking at you gov. Cuomo, who complained “It is unbelievable to me that in New York State, in the United States of America, we cannot make these materials, and that we are all shopping China to try get these materials, and we are competing against each other ...”

To refresh your memory, Obamacare levied a huge taxes on medical equipment manufacturing here in the US. What do you think would happen? Why wouldn’t THEY foresee this kind of shortage on medical equipment and complete reliance on foreign entities? Yes, even after Trump took over for more than three years.

And about that ‘warning’ that Trump should have known. Cooper might be referring to the military war gaming on pandemic in 2019. Military war game all kinds of scenario for their preparedness. How can Cooper and Acosta now blame Trump for “knowing a pandemic would happen in advance yet not prepare for it”? Did they ever blame Obama on the swine flu in 2009?

Huh, if being wrong should induce humility, then Acosta should be the humblest guy in the world. He’s far from that, so there goes his theory.

Trump said this would be over by April?

It is not even a full week into the month.

And the President said he was HOPEFUUL that it would be over by Easter, which is next week. Hopeful is not the same as it will with certitude.

Not to quibble, but that is exactly what Acosta is doing.

In fact, you would think Acosta would be humble for being wrong so many times!

You’d think that Jim Acosta would be humble after being ignored by so many Americans.

Mr. Acosta, good Americans do not think like you. Not at all.

Mr. Acosta, good Americans despise your questions, your comments and your behaviors.

Mr. Acosta, to good Americans you are an enemy of America.

I am not an expert but, Congress is the body that holds the purse strings, holds hearings to suss out what’s going on in the country, then writes a spending budget.

Said budget is sent to the Senate for a period of sober second thoughts.

President spends the money.

Progressives are constantly fighting and blocking the President

yup, even AOC and the sqaud missed the empty shelves. Also, never came up in the debates

The goal in life of this piece of $hit is to say as many times as possible that Trump is wrong.

Yes, Vaquero. The ability to lie begets all crimes.

Satan is the father of lies, the demonic source of the left’s sinister agenda.

I am not even sure Jim Acosta even KNOWS the definition of “humble”, “modest, without an excess of pride”, or alternatively “low in station or quality”.

Two very different things, really, and even dragging the word into the conversation is a little suspect on the part of the Left. They use the definitions interchangeably, without regard to any modifying circumstances, or whether it is appropriate.

Donald J. Trump is not the dog that is going to lie down and roll on its back in surrender, that is for sure. That is not what the Alpha dog does.
