I don’t think anyone knows for sure but over the decades, at times like this, one ponders these things. My thoughts go along these lines, some things are known, much not. A lot of information is “proprietary”.

You’re welcome. I admit it was a little concerning about revealing as much of who I am being I have posted about my family. Not interested in Doxing my family. But people kept insisting their opinions were worth more than my facts. So I did, reluctantly admit I was a doctor for years.

There’s that Dr. Zelenko in NY claiming great success treating patients with hydroxychloroqine + azithromycin + zinc. Hope he’s on the level. He seems a bit odd but i don’t know if it’s me picking up something or just me not being very familiar with his culture(I think he’s Hasidic.)

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

The false positive rate was 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

One thing my “instincts” tell me, if conventional antibiotics had antiviral effects that were significant we would have stumbled onto that serendipitously. People hospitalized for viral infections that were overwhelming have been put o all these antibiotics for concurrent infections in hospital for decades. One would think if there were significant clinical activity we would have noticed decades ago.

When Viagra was in R&D as a medicine for hypertension it was found to be “lacking” in clinical effect and was dropped. Then the “experimental group” started demanding access to the drug even though the holder of the patent had discarded it. They literally had no idea why people wanted their “worthless” drug. IOW, when there is a startling, real effect, someone notices.

I don’t care about the author’s demographics. The moment I saw that I recognized it for what it is. Unethical Consumerism. The Flexner Report is 100 years old.

The first half roughly rads like a novel and I found it fascinating, the last half gets esoteric specific to the early 80s. Unless you are obsessed you will get bored with the last half.

My bad. I tried to access it and they want credit card #s and stuff. It is a good book and it should be public domain now, published in 1978. It goes into detail about the Flexner Report and a lot of stuff.

Q: Doc, from what I understand, one of the first questions you are asked when admitted to the hospital is “are you on any existing medications?” If this is true, how difficult would it be to compile and publish the number of serious COVID+ patients who have been taking Hydroxychloroquine for other conditions such as RA and Lupus? Are there HIPA restrictions that would make this difficult? Considering the state of emergency, would you see any drawbacks or negative ramifications of making such numbers public?

Well, actually no. Stone is a bit more expensive as a building cladding in which the preponderance of dust is produced at stone quarries and fabricator sites. Concrete mixes use and produce vastly larger quantities of silica dust from sand and stone aggregates. Thanks to medical research we've learned to mitigate exposure levels.

People have been asking me for days and sending me links to papers all of which I have read, many in detail, and spent hours with that French paper. I have to say, and posted yesterday, i had a virtual appt. with my allergist yesterday because I didn’t want to go to a doctor’s office a month ago with this illness out there, so I was a couple weeks behind on Xolair. So I asked her what she thought about the French paper. “I don’t trust the French. They invented Plaquenil and they seem to think it’s “wonderful” (inflection hers).” Now I hav known this woman for 40 years, we were fairly close friends in Med School. This is how intelligent this woman is, I took 2 semesters of BioChem as an undergrad so I knew Michalis-Menton Kinetics cold my first day in 600 level Physiological Chemistry. She didn’t she had no clue. It took me weeks working on it every day to “really understand” (I’m not real smart). I explained it to her and she got it in 5 minutes. I was amazed.

So this woman is not just “another doctor”, she has been a practicing Allergist/Immunologist her entire career. She is invited to speak at National COnferencees to her colleagues as a “Senior Practitioner”. When she tells me she “doesn’t trust the French” I know I can take that to the bank.

While we have Dr. Raoult’s paper I can’t help but notice today something I missed initially. What well regarded Journal has accepted his paper for urgent publication? It should be there on the pdf. Hmmmm. IOW, it hasn’t. Until some well regarded Journal is willing to back Raoult up with THEIR reputation, I’m still waiting. This is how “science” works.
