Best to aim high. It wasn't long ago that Trump was claiming that shutting off airflow from China had done the trick, and that we were following 15 cases and their contacts. Nothing against Trump, hope has its place and he's been fed a lot of misinformation, but over-estimating now is better than falling way behind the curve, like we did then.

I’m skeptical of anything from these people. And I’m sure the president is also. However I doubt he has anybody else that he can call on or rely on at this point in the doctors pool of people. That is probably something we haven’t thought about and that is there’s probably very few authorities that he can call on who would have his back.

You should be and as stated by Fauci and Birx the models are only as good as the data they are based on so garbage in then garbage out. We’ll never have complete and accurate data only predicted data.
What we will know is the number of deaths associated with COVID-19 but even that number won’t tell the true story because what did they actually die from?
We’ll also know from all of the COVID-19 tests that were taken and submitted how many were infected but that’s irrelevant because everyone in the US would have to be tested and all of the results known otherwise it’s a useless statistic.
Does that include the addition of 100, 000 new ventilators and millions of more masks gloves and plenty of rooms they are opening up? That number suggests a lot of double and triple prexisting conditions, comorbidities
