President Trump mentioned suicides several time during his call to re-start things.
It will be interesting to compare data year over year. I would suspect suicides, domestic violence other deaths to be up this year. Traffic fatalities should be way down, as well as homicides aside from domestic violence. Due to the social distancing, increased awareness of handwashing, closed schools and businesses, overall death from all infectious diseases may be down.
As an aside, I keep seeing people speak in disgust about Trump or others weighing economics vs lives, but governments do this all the time, even when the data is far cleaner.
One example: it is widely known that for every 5MPH increase of the traffic speed, traffic deaths are expected to go up by 8.5%. Knowing this, some governments still increase or keep speed limits higher.
An increase of suicides due to each 1% increase in unemployment is estimated to be a low of 4,000 to 40,000. With a projected unemployment rate of 30% , the annual deaths from suicide would range from 120,000 as a low to 1,200,000 and may exceed that of deaths from COVID-19.
