What we have right now are stats. That is reason, rationality. Hope. Better than going by the sky WILL fall fall.

Might it fall? It might, and a meteorite might wipe us out.

What we can go by is what we have, stats, and to have more testing, wash hands, eat well, drink lots of liquids and on and on.

Based on professional experience, I can assure you that the occupancy rate at 60%’ish is a joke. Any hospital that was 35% empty would be out of business.

All of the amateur statisticians pulling numbers off of Wikipedia are not doing anyone, any service.

People are so interested in counting raindrops, they cannot perceive how hard it’s raining, and whether the room needs repair.

But, it’s just the flu.

That may be true but it's nowhere near the number of icu beds we need if let this thing rip through the population. This is the biggest fear of government and what the containment strategy is built around.
