I created a helpful email at work that shows the latest stats on the virus (https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/).
I was severely chastised for sending it out because the title was “ChinaVirus helpful information”. I was accused of being very insensitive.
There was some private back and forth between me and the two liberal females that were most upset. I politely responded and said I would call it whatever the new vernacular required. But they called me hateful and many other names. One of them even came out in her private email to me that she really hates Trump.
They must have complained to the manager because she sent out an email telling eveeryone to not call it the china virus and don’t link anyone to non-government sites.
Thing is, the manager likes me and I know she is at least a little bit trump fan. Those women must have shown her my response to them and not even realized that their response to me was juvenile and hateful while mine to them was always respectful. I think she just acquiesced to their wishes to calm them down.
I feel like an ex-college professor working among a bunch of precious snowflake teenage girls - except these women are all in their 40’s to 60’s. They are all single, make no bones about their hatred of men, and have even adopted children to raise without a father. Toxic femininity running fatherless homes. What could go wrong?
I wonder what their thoughts are on the name “African Swine Fever”.
“Racist”, I would imagine.
You should have titled it “Latest Bat Virus out of China”.
Perhaps the using the Phil Rizzuto baseball analogy illustrate the spread to the US...
