......one compassionate guy is willing to give Gillum the benefit of the doubt.......
Even though he's a loser, Gillum is known for being public-spirited.
So he went to the hotel room to perform "constituent services" on a "citizen in need". That's nice....Gillum will "do anything" to keep a citizen (cough) satisfied.
