The thing is, even if this is a non-crisis, the fact that people are going to be panic buying, will cause shortages, just like the toilet paper shortage caused by Johnny Carson’s JOKE.
Those of us who are prepared will do just fine as we won’t be needing to buy anything for a while.
However, considering that this might NOT be a manufactured crisis, that there is the possibility that this is the big event we have been expecting, it’s not going to hurt to add to our already abundant supplies. And we won’t be doing massive panic buying but rather just a little extra each time, only enough to not cause supply problems.
A couple extra boxes of pasta here, a little more rice, there, a few spices, some canned fruit. Not in any really unusual amounts.
