ugh! I hate the “single mom, so you owe me” syndrome.
True story, The last time I ate at a McDonalds, the manager had to show the cashier how to make change. Scary.

I wonder if the manager also showed the cashier how to wipe her ass and wash her hands after she used the bathroom?
Enjoy yo meal!
Gosh - maybe she should tell her
boyfriend to get a job - if he leaves she’s better off.
Not being able to get more hours per week, is a result of Obama care. I know a ton of young people trying to juggle more than one job, to make ends meet. They cant get more than 30 hours per week. If they get more than 30 hours, the company has to provide very expensive benefits.

We have always been a single income family.
When my kids were young, we barely had two nickels to rub together. Cloth diapers saved tens of thousands of dollars. We never had and still dont have cable. Rarely ate out.
Our church had a maternity network. The women shared maternity clothes and traded out baby clothes. Drive cars until they wear out. At one point, we had four cars, none with less than 150,000 miles. I got 300,000 out of my last one. Always used.
Vacations generally involved grandma and grandpas house or a tent.
After a while, frugality becomes a lifestyle. I still rarely buy clothes not on clearance.
I do eat out a lot, but most of it is on expense account for work
What do you wanna bet he ain't even the baby daddy?
Now that it's 7 years after this was written, they should look her up and see how she fared.
The minimum wage in NYC for fast food worker IS $15 per hour, and it has been that way since December 31, 2018: https://www.labor.ny.gov/formsdocs/wp/Part146.pdf
It ain’t McDonald’s fault, and it darn sure ain’t my fault either.
Oh yeah, I know that.

She works at every customer call center I have occasion to call.....I have a last name with four letters in it and they ask how it’s spelled and when I ask for their name and how to spell it, they give an exasperated sigh....Oh! dear, too much!!
You posted an article that is 6 1/2 *years* old?
Why?
This person’s circumstances could have changed - or not.
