Established in 2001 after the 9/11 attack on America, this thread is designed to identify threats to America, both internal and external, and evaluate the probability of those threats occurring and the extent of potential damage. Discussions may stray into ‘tinfoil’ territory, but the goal is to peel back and confirm information so we can make founded decisions and actions.

Leftist civil libertarians and right-wing anti-government types can do their part as well to protect Muslims and Arab-Americans – with a generous display of silence and understanding when it comes to the new surveillance techniques being adopted by law enforcement. Their standard-issue complaints ring hollow at a time of war, when civil liberties must be necessarily curtailed to some degree.

BLM/antifa riots strongly pushing for shootings / open lethal conflict before the end of the rnc convention. Kenosha may well be it. Both sides from the start came packing. Last night’s shooting the rioters were armed as was the shooter. This may well bring outsiders from both sides into town as the police/NG were essentially fixed in place defending govt offices and not the rest of the town.
This spiraling up the potential lethality of the riots I have been warning about. Kenosha may be the spark.

One of my daughters is getting married next month. Her entire wedding cost will be the equivalent of Chelsea’s cake.
Ok, I’m mostly back up to this routine, so bear with me a little. Much of this post is my summary observations while getting move back into the American Redoubt.
Wuhan Virus -

One of the key things is that this summer ‘outbreak’ of wuhan virus is on the decline. It only infected and killed (depending upon the definition) a smaller number than what hit this spring. That is not letting corona panic pushers to hold back and we see stricter regulations than ever.
Economy -
Stocks have nearly recovered from their highs at the first of the year. Jobs are opening up and more are being reemployed. This is in spite of democrat governors doing all they can to put the breaks on any recovery. It is still a very delicate recovery.
CW2/Civil Unrest -
MY OBSERVATION - The left has scaled up the violence and lethality of their rioting. Law enforcement is wore out in these democrat controlled war zones. More pushback now coming from the right and they are coming packing. This really increased by an order of magnitude the potential for a big blow up. The left through their cancel efforts and supportive media have tried to drive the narrative that those killed/wounded by police were actually angelic beings and not the convicted criminal thugs they really are. Now democrat leadership and leadership of multiple leftist organizations are promising and planning for substantially increased violence in the event of a Trump victory.
Even more concerning is reports that retired generals are calling for a coup against the President. Increasing suggestions by high visibility entertainment personages to assassinate the President.
Hopefully i can unwind this more later. Buckle up the next 50 plus day will be getting increasingly bumpy
Strategic Deployments -
US Naval and Air Force continue to challenge Chinese claims on the south china sea. US also bringing home more ground forces from Iraq and Afghanistan.
China -
DOJ aggressively going after chinese ‘students’ who lied on their visas and have been caught trying to sneak classified and sensitive information to the mainland.
Russia -
Working intrigue in regards to Ukraine, Belarus and other countries.
China/India -
Talks are failing and each side are building up forces.
N Korea -
Kim’s condition is still under question.
Hong Kong -
Backed by new ‘laws’ HK police have been aggressively arresting resistance leaders. Mass uprising has hit the brakes.
Israel -
Two treaties with enemies has really tipped the balance in the region. Annexation on hold. Tit for Tat strikes with hamas continues. Hezbollah blustering but facing severe lack of support in Lebanon and little money from Iran
Iran -
Rhetoric continues but little actual movement.
Iraq -
Continued minor rocket attacks on Bagdad airport and green zone.
Syria -
Fighting still focused on Idlib, but little major offensive activity. Israel continues to bomb Iranian facilities in country with little opposition.
Turkey -
Turkey has become increasingly aggressive in the Med against Greece and France, supporting the national govt in Libya, pushing its agenda in syria and generally trying to force upon the region its view its leadership as the head of the new caliphate.
Libya -
War continues, watching to see if turkish supported forces attempt to capture Sirte and draw Egypt into the combat.
Black Swans -
Weather (flooding, winds and fire) have has strong impacts around the world, increasing the pressure on global food supplies. Plenty of other natural disasters that can cause even more stress on food supply.
A little bigger than usual - one because of the tempo of activity and two, just tying to get back in to the swing of things.
Wuhan Virus -

Both growth and death rates have continued to decline since July.
News this week (buried as usual) is of a second defector from China with news on the development and deployment to the Wuhan virus. Chinese virologist Yan Li-meng fled to the United States from Hong Kong this spring and charged in news interviews that the virus behind the COVID-19 pandemic was manufactured in the Wuhan Institute of Virology and appears to be designed from two viruses stored in a PLA laboratory.
Results were withheld by Nashville city leaders in order to justify continued closures of bars and restaurants in the city. This adds fire to the claims that the numbers are being manipulated across the country at many levels to justify continued lock down measures.
Economy -
According to data from Yelp (not sure the reliability) over 60% of the businesses the closed due to the wuhan virus have closed permanently. The five business sectors hit hardest: restaurants, bars, retail, fitness, and the beauty industry.
CW2/Civil Unrest -
The death of Ginsburg has thrown open a new line of attack by the left against the Trump and conservatism. Should he and McConnell push forward a replacement before the election, there is strong potential for increased violence and protests. Democrats are looking at the supreme court appointment as something to get their lethargic base fired up for. OTOH, this may further fire up a motivated republican electorate to strike while the iron is hot to change the courts leanings. Her death makes a supreme court decision in the event of a challenged re-election of Trump, more problematical.
Tempo of BLM/Antifa violence in Portland and across the country has been observed to decline significantly of late. Many suspected causes so of which include start of up schools/colleges, doxxing of rioters (and federal charges), federal deputization of state police (Oregon), and probably more likely the significant negative support for violence Numerous polls showing democrats getting shellacked of the subject of ‘law and order’ and the rioters are losing the support. This is reflected in the President’s approval rating in the polls.
The “White House Siege” protest have been cancelled do to alleged threats from right wing racist groups. I think the cancellation is more linked to the massive negative view of riots/protests that have developed.
Insurgencies rely upon support of the population in order to gain momentum, and that support has tanked. Insurgent leadership may also be pausing to plan for the next stage of operations as the elections approach.
Riots have served one for the primary goals of an insurgency, demoralization and neutralization of law enforcement. Recent, in Portland, an incident where a man held an individual hostage with a knife, it took law-enforcement well over a hour to respond. In Aurora CO, a violent felon resulted in the police standing down twice to avoid a potentially lethal police event. Retirements and police quitting have placed departments very short handed. And in a stroke of irony, the Minneapolis city council is complaining about the lack of police response to crime - after defunding them.
There is a disturbing trend of increasing ambushes of law enforcement. Another in Californian as well as an open statement by gangs in Chicago open season on police. This goes with the dramatic increase in violent crime and a 50% increasing in arsons in big cities. Chicago alone has seen a 52% jump in homicides from 2019.
BLM has gained financial support from a pro-chinese group - Chinese Progressive Association. The act of developing outside the country financial support is evidence of an advancing insurgent plan of attack to grow the movement.
Meanwhile, FBI chief still doesn’t recognize that the BLM/Anfifa riots are well organized and directed, preferring to continue to push the boogyman of right separatists and racist as the principle bad guys in the country.
Strategic Deployments -
Russia’s Defense Ministry says US Navy warships have spent 33% more time in the Black Sea compared to the same period last year.
US forces are being increased in Syria in response to ISIS attempts to regain control of areas lost to its multiple opponents. This build up consists in part of sending Bradley fighting vehicles, advanced radar and more fighter jet patrols to northeast Syria.
Navy reports that the U.S.S Nimitz entered the Persian Gulf Friday along with guided-missile cruisers Princeton and Philippine Sea, and the destroyer Sterett. The USS Reagan is operating off the coast of Japan.
Leftist democrat affiliated organizations continue to leak out protest plans in the event of a Trump victory in November. Plans range from more of the same protests to even democrat lead states essentially succeeding from the union (in one absurd case being lead by a rebel president Harris).
China -
Among all its other ventures, they are threatening retaliation for the pending blockage of TicTok and WeChat this weekend.
China/India -
Both sides are increasing their forces in the disputed border zone as talks fail to gain traction. Sporadic gunfire has occurred over the past week punctuating the increased volatility of the region.
Taiwan -
Chinese AF continues to push into the Taiwanese air defense zone. These incursions poke just over the mid-point of the strait between the counties.
Israel -
Hamas launched a series of rocket attacks in response to the peace agreements. Israel hit them back pretty hard.
Iran -
More rhetoric spinning off from last weeks allegations that they were planning to assassinate a US Ambassador. Iran mouthpieces stated they would be going after much bigger targets and scoffed at the President’s warning of a 1000x retaliation. Iranian cyberattacks have resulted in DOJ arresting numerous individuals.
Turkey -
Turkey is growing more belligerent towards France and Greece over territorial disputes in the Mediterrian Sea.
