No witnesses does Trump no favors. He has every right to defend himself against this CIA back coupist assault using all the power his party has in the US Senate. Sadly, once again the GOP Senate refuses to support him.
I think Trump is doing great and is in total control of what is happening. He is actually calling the tune and I don't understand how others don't see it.

Mitch doesn't have the votes to hold a wider indictment of the Democrats, the deep state or anything else beyond the articles of impeachment. He has the votes to hold a quick, narrowly focused trial and acquittal. The rest is a bunch of silly chest thumping. If Trump is ever able to wrest back control of the executive branch, he can address the crimes against himself and the constitution. Until then, a quick acquittal is all he's got.
