Lots of food, mom made everything from scratch, so did her sisters, and their daughters. Bobby married an Italian named Patricia, phenomenal old school Italian cook. The presents were few but there were lots of kids, lots of food, and lots of card/board games if the weather was bad. Good times.

I haven’t decided whether you are a Grinch or a Scrooge.
Please provide additional evidence.

The smell of a pine tree BLEEDING TO DEATH IN THE LIVING ROOM covered in C-7 incandescent lights from 1963, and decorations, some commercial and some hand made, dating from 1963-1988 or so.

“Does anything scream Christmas quite like marshmallows?”
Yeah, lots of things. I don’t associate marshmallows with Christmas at all.

Beware of lawsuits from the Sta-Puft Marshmallow Company.
They tend to bring the Wrath of Gozer.

Ah, I was a yoot of 16 when that movie came out.
I wish I could say it seems like yesterday but it seems like a million years ago :)

“covered in C-7 incandescent lights from 1963”
Was the light string a series string. One light goes out and you had to replace the first bolb, move it to the second slot, then move that one to the third slot untill you found the burned out bolb.
To: fproy2222
Nope, they run independently.
In 1974 Dad replaced some burnt out ones with flashers. Each one contains it’s own flasher, so they run independently.
When it’s quiet you can hear them tinkling. Out of 8 originally bought (they came in 4 packs) 6 are running today.
