Exactly right.

This reminds me of an old story about George Schultz, Secretary of State for Ronald Reagan.

New hires would be called to his office before they went on their first assignment and be asked to show him the country they would be representing on a world globe on his desk.

Inevitably, they would point to the location of their first posting and Schultz would explode and point to the United States, saying "No dammit, that is the country where you have your first assignment, but this is the country you well be representing! Don't ever forget it."

Schultz has been gone many years and almost all of them have forgotten.
