Shrieks from the remaining AOC types would remind us of the danger....and of their minority support.
I thought 2004 would quiet the Gore recount fanatics. I thought 2008 would quiet the race baiters. Likewise, 2020 won't eliminate the traitors, but massive defeats should quiet it to a reasonable level. (fingers crossed) They MUST be defeated.
More likely, massive defeats will ignite them to new heights of frenzy. The communists used to die down a bit for a couple years after the events you listed, but no longer. Now they keep the pressure on forever and operate in the open. They see the number of Americans favoring socialism and communism rising to never-before-seen levels and they see their people now getting elected to our Congress. They are emboldened like never before in our history.
This will not get under control until some strong Eugene McCarthy, Richard Nixon, and Whitaker Chambers type anti-communists emerge and communists are once again outlawed. But we waited far too long — they are entrenched and that won’t happen.
