U.S. Marine unit wants to hold annual ball at presidential venue: Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club

At a time when taxpayer and foreign-government spending at Trump Organization properties is fueling political battles, a U.S. Marine Corps reserve unit stationed in South Florida hopes to hold an annual ball at a venue that could profit the commander-in-chief.

The unit is planning a gala to celebrate the 244th anniversary of the Marines’ founding at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach on Nov. 16, according to a posting on the events website Evensi.

“It’s a work in progress,” said a Marine who picked up the phone late Thursday at the drill center of the 4th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO) in West Palm Beach. “We are planning on Mar-a-Lago but nothing is set in stone. We booked it but there were complications involved. ... It’s just money and some other things. We’re doing our best.”

I hope they do it at that location.
The very notion that uniformed Marines were having a good time at a Trump owned property will drive the Libs Bonkers!

Trump should donate the time and venue for the event, making sure that it’s well-taken care of by the Marines. Liberal heads would explode.

I’d attend if Marine veterans were allowed in.

The Marine Corps Ball is for ALL Marines, active and retired!

You should be able to go.

Miami Herald had got their panties in a wad over nothing - typical insane ranting by LIEberals!

I’d wager that the Miami area Marine Corps Ball will not be paid for with taxpayer dollars.

So how many people are we talking here? I read that a company is 80 to 150 soldiers, at what, maybe a couple hundred bucks a head? So let’s say this is a $30,000 event, out of which Trump Inc. would clear how much - 10% net profit after expenses?

Trump’s fortunes aren’t going to feel the impact of $3K.

A company of soldiers would be referring to the army. This is a Marine Corps event.

Trump should donate the venue on the condition he’s invited. The libs will be mortified at the love.

While I have no problem with them using Trump’s venue, I have to wonder if weeks is their normal lead time for annual balls?

I am sure some of the wives are wondering who is in charge of planning this thing.

Trumps commander and chief. If He donates the whole thing on his dime, who cares. He appoints their leaders and sends them in harms way. I like it plus the left will go nuts. F’em

I was making a joke. If you haven’t booked your holiday party yet, you are going to end up with the “Social Center” at Saint Catherine’s up the street.

At least that is what I told my wife when we got engaged.

So who is paying for it? If it’s the individual Marines themselves then what’s the big deal?

“I’d attend if Marine veterans were allowed in.”

Check with your local Marine Corps League or 1st Marine Division Association for the time and date of the next Marine Corps Birthday ball. Some American Legions also organize Marine birthday balls.

Here’s the commandant’s formal birthday ball in DC.
