The American government has run a propaganda machine since the Spanish American War. FDR's Hollywood would have made Goebbels green with envy.

My point of view is that the modern downfall of reasoned skepticism began with radio. The pinnacle of liberty in the US was 1920's more or less. many piece of globalism fell into place coincidentally. Money (shifted from Congress to the FED), mass propaganda being enabled with CENTRALIAZED radio, movies.

The press is not inherently honest. communications is a tool. Those who aim to decieve always claim they are honest and of best will. See the press. See the government.
