He has some other good op-ed's/blogs if you care to check them out.
Democrats will keepcreating false flags, until the bulk of the population does exactly that, willingly.
True.
We shall not see any effort by the Dem Controlled House to ban any guns.
It would be political suicide.
Except the guns that you lost.
So, what you’re saying is that the situation is hopeless, and we should all just give up now and save everyone the trouble?
I mean...if this guy is right, what’s the point?
This is a propaganda piece to soften us up. And a low IQ one at that.
Everything is an unknown.
The biggest obstacle they face in taking our guns is the fact that we will resist.
This guy must have been on drugs three years ago when he wrote this click bait. I do not know anyone that would just hand them over to avoid the possibility of a Civil War. I talked to a cop that said that he would quit before he tried to take guns away from people.
Waiting for them to confiscate our guns is a lot like waiting for the earth to die from global warming.
Myths are called myths for a reason.
The slow sword penetrates the shield.
JoMa
The fact of the matter is that there is not a politician in Washington, R or D, who would not be happy to see every American dis-armed.
Outstanding click-bait.
Damn, I think this guy has read some of my postings here, which are virtually the same thing he’s saying.
There will NOT be a starting line, with a guy shooting a gun up in the air, and saying “Let the Games Begin”. No, it will be much quieter. Maybe what he’s saying, or perhaps what I’ve been saying, or a combination of both of us.
What I’ve been saying is that once AR’s are outlawed, then people who own them will have to make a very tough choice: Do they continue to hold on to them, and risk being arrested on felony charges, or do they turn them in? Each case will be different. Does your wife know you have it? Is she a bitch? Is she a big mouth? Is she ready to move back to mom’s and serve you? How about the kids? Will they remember to NOT let the nice doctor know about them when he asks? How about when the schools play little games with their heads, such as asking everyone in class if they’ve ever touched a gun?
But, in the end, with a few high-profile jail sentences, 90% of the guns will be gone. The remaining 10%, that’s when some of the tactics mentioned here begin, starting with with a letter, then a bit more, etc. So maybe you lost them in a boating accident? Better hope they don’t pop up, say after a shooting, or a theft from your house, etc.
And the screws turn and turn...with very few guns left, then the dogs can come out and look around. But, no Mulan Lube, or whatever you guys call it...just a fairly quick ending of the Second Amendment.
I hope the second amendment turns into another third rail for politicians.
Hope.
Just give us the "list" of the "takers" addresses and we'll happily comply... FedEx, UPS, and Amazon aren't the only possible knocks on the door announcing a delivery...
It is sometimes an eery to see:
The appeal that GIVING UP has on some people, sometimes.
It’s almost like some kind of drug.
The strange hope provided by utter hopelessness..?
I can’t fully explain it.
Vaguely it resembles the many OPUS soliloquoys of old here at FR, something so intoxicating to some that many would come back to FR after leaving, specifically to leave FR AGAIN.
The TRIUMPH of giving up.
It’s soooo weird.
While this scenario is plausible, it would be subject to long court challenges and political suicide for the politicians proposing it. I am not certain that there would not be organized resistance to implementing this. Clearly if the like of Warren or even Biden were to be elected POTUS this type of Second Amendment gutting would be first on their agenda.
how anyone could be so naive as to think American citizens would hand over their stuff.....it boggles the mind that anyone could seriously believe that......this must have been a satire essay
I know that my Deplorable Parents won’t give up our guns...
We’ll be outlaws...
I’ve often had the discussion with local LEA as to what they would do if they received an order to disarm law-abiding citizens. They always reply along the lines of “See any feds around?” My thoughts are that local LEA will be our first line of defense against such an action. Without local LEA, the feds would be powerless to disarm the public at large. As far as commanding the military to do it, most of the military are southern/country/middle America boys who wouldn’t take kindly to their kinfolk being threatened. Look at it this way: the feds can’t even secure the southern border. Down here in Texas, the state police (DPS) do the heavy lifting. Without cooperation from local law enforcement, the fed would be powerless to disarm the public. How successful are they in outlawing pot?
No imagination.
We live in a very connected, very complex world. Groceries arrive daily to every supermarket in the country. Countless millions of people, including those who detest the Second Amendment, are dependent upon those deliveries to avoid starvation.
During the L.A. riots a truck driver was dragged from his truck and seriously wounded by a brick wielding criminal. I'm sure he didn't complete his delivery that day.
Life without electrical power is almost unthinkable today. We rely upon a complex system of generating plants and power distribution systems to deliver that power. When a car hits a power pole in my area, it takes about forty-five minutes to restore power. Fortunately for the consumer the number of such incidents is low. During severe storms, several poles can fail and the power might be out for days.
Before confiscating guns the government would need to harden our various product delivery systems in order to avoid a retaliatory backlash that might inconvenience a lot of people.
