Furniture distributor Factory Direct Wholesale LLC has announced plans to both expand its operations and relocate its corporate headquarters to Savannah. The move will create 250 new jobs with 95 of those being jobs in the corporate headquarters and $17 million in investment.
Previously headquartered in Duluth, the Savannah facility, which is currently being built out, will be located at the Morgan Lakes Center at 503 Morgan Lakes Industrial Blvd. Information about possible hiring dates was not available Thursday.
We are excited to expand our footprint in Savannah with the move of our headquarters and the creation of 250 new job opportunities. With the Port of Savannah at our back door, the incredible workforce and an unparalleled infrastructure, we know Savannah is the right location for Factory Direct, said Hanping Liu, general manager of Factory Direct Wholesale LLC.
Savannah Economic Development Authority President and CEO Trip Tollison said the announcement hits all the right buttons for Savannah.
Two hundred-fifty new job opportunities, a corporate headquarters and increased use of the Port of Savannah. We are excited to welcome Factory Direct Wholesale to Savannah and look forward to their continued growth in Savannah, he said.

I didn’t know ‘Factory Direct’ was even in existence anymore. Unless you are going to buy a lot of furniture steer clear of them.
I wish reporters and editors kept in mind they are writing for world-wide consumption (the ww in www.) and that the context of the physical local paper is gone. Coming from Duluth, where? Georgia? Minnesota? Upper Volta? No big deal if it is an intra-state move but huuuuuge if coming from Minnesotastan.
95 of 250 are corporate? What could go wrong?
Ahhhh...the smell of wood chips, pressed board and lacquer in the morning...
What’s your point? Seriously. I don’t get what you’re driving at...
“No thanks.”
Have some good friends that just moved there from Atlanta.
Their new home is in a nice area with access to the ICW.
“which is currently being built out”
What’s the difference between “built” and “built out”?
That area is very pretty and well located for transportation needs (rail, air and shipping). Savannah is also close enough to Jacksonville that if there isn’t enough entertainment around, you have a major city right down I-95.
Also, the more industry that comes in, the more money goes into my retirement. So, bring it on.
Too many “youths” and too much crime.
