Could not have said it better. With MS you never do own what you “paid for”, it is forever theirs.
The license is what you paid for, yet for 30.00 I have been able to go from XP to Windows 10 pro, thru 3 PC builds, since the upgrade from Windows 8 (from XP) put me on the retail channel, and the upgrade to 8.1 pro and then W/10 pro was free. Thanks be to God.
And my experience with Linux is that can tell me that I do not own files that I put there (and I can easily edit under Windows), and obtaining permissions to do so requires sudo something each time (unless running a distro like Puppy). And overall I finder it harder to customize to the degree that I can easily do under Windows. Besides getting some hardware to run. Still, thank God we are not restricted to one OS, and I hope to see Linux desktop to improve more, and to use it on some units. At least it seems some multimedia formats are no longer restricted.
