One small clarification:

NOT the U.S. necessarily, rather, the territory occupied by the Dutch, French, Spanish and British - PRIOR to becoming the U.S...

Quibble. Most African who were captured and turned into slaves did not come to the US. Most where taken to the Caribbean and South America.

But here we are talking about the descendants of the ones who were landed the US and sold in various slave markets - Charleston was one of the largest markets I believe.
