I inadvertently joined the Navy. Wondering what ratings would be open to me, I went to the recruiter who began administering aptitude and technical tests. As I finished them, he handed me another stack of papers, and I kept right on signing stuff.
When I got home, I said, “Hi, dad. I just joined the Navy.”
