Russia didn’t play any role in WWII. The USSR did, but was subsequently defeated by Ronald Reagan and the United States.

“but was niggardly in bearing a fair share of the blood shed in the battle to defeat Hitler’s minions.”
Let’s see, first they sided with the Nazis, then the NAZI’s double crossed the Commies , then the Commies beg us for armor and weapons and supply’s. Closest these idiots got to a D-day was the battle of Stalingrad.....and even then they shot thier own troops when they tried to fall back. Thank goodness we had a crippled democrap as President who liked Stalin. If it were Trump, he would have listened to Patton and attack Russia.
“First, let’s not forget that there wouldn’t have been a World War II if Russia had not joined with Germany to get the ball rolling.”
Commies and Nazis have always been two sides of the same coin
Stalin signed an ALLIANCE with Hitler.
A little-known codicil to the Molotov-Ribbentrop Non-Aggression Pact was a map carving up ALL of Europe between them, in case Hitler won.
It was because of the MRNAP that Stalin took the Baltics and launched himself on a war on Finland which turned out in a very unexpected way.
The US was NEVER an ally of Adolf Hitler.
Even so, we provided them with over 70% of all the trucks they used and nearly all their ammo —the stupidest thing we ever did.
Russia lost 27 million people in the war ( at least 10 million military) and killed over a million nazis on the Eastern Front.
Had it not been for Russia fighting against a German war of extermination, pulling the nazis into the interior of Russia and defeating them at the cost of millions killed by war and starvation, there might have been no D Day.
We never in our history can imagine what the Russians have endured nor how it has affected them.
Putin had more creds to be at that D Day ceremony than did Merkel.
Oh yeah you Ruskies! Your helmets sucked. Our were way cooler.
Russia is just not that important...
Excellent, John, excellent!
