...declining economic prospects of high school dropouts...a perfect capture of the real most toxic societal problem of today - the abdication of personal responsibility - someone who drops out of high school is going to have poor economic prospects - but it's not society's fault - it's the individual's fault for making a poor choice - but then when people are bombarded consistently with the idea that their problems are always the fault of someone or something else, from religion to racism, they have no incentive to try to make sensible, thoughtful decisions for themselves........
