American politics is like a never-ending sports contest or roman circus

Each side cheers its team, boos the bad guys on the other side, each side scores some points. Each side leads or falls behind at some point.

And the game never ends, and nothing really changes.

It’s like life. You can’t win, you can’t break even, and you can’t get out of the game.

As for changing, when control of Congress switches to the opposite party, it seems nothing is changed except they swap talking points.
