A long time ago a Norweigian guy called into the Art Bell show:
His dad had been a deep-sea diver with the Norweigian Navy.
Usually his dives had been under 100 feet or so, but on a few occaisions they had to go really deep. This required some long prep, purging CO2 from their system. They would breathe oxygen mixed with helium or some such for hours. Only then could they perform these special, deep dives.
One time very unexpectedly some important Navy people showed up, demanding with great haste that he and two other guys immediately begin that purging process. “Hmmm...I guess we’ll be diving really deep for something unusual” they all thought.
Strangely, none of the higher-ranking officers would tell them any details about what exactly they would be diving for, or exactly where, or why. Their tone with the divers strongly discouraged any questions, casual or even vital.
The divers descended into the murky black one of the especially deep fjords. There, they saw the most unusual underwater thing they’d ever seen:
Huuuuuuuge tracks, as if made by an ultra-heavy tank for a giant. The depth of each perfect track was more than a foot, and they stretched in perfect parallel for 10 meters or more. There were two sets, just like a tank or catepillar might make.
Leading deeper, the tracks suddenly stopped, as if the vehicle had been extracted, simply to disappear.
They took photos. After coming to the surface the divers were made to sign important papers and admonished to never speak of the matter to anyone in any way.
They never learned the reason why the tracks were there or what had made them.
I meant the “treads” (were there any) were 10 meters wide.
I didn’t make that clear.
Then it had to be true!
His dad had been a deep-sea diver with the Norweigian Navy
And there's no way Art Bell ever knew either of them!
'Cause we all know Art Bell never made stuff up.
lol
