Essential oil stories keep popping up in my life. A woman I know was able to give up the CPAP she was using for sleep apnea once she started using an oil. A 75-year-old man abandoned his viagra habit after he started drinking an EO-infused energy drink. A friend was having blurred vision due to excessive computer use. She exposes her eyes to frankincense vapors for two minutes every day or two and the problem has gone away.
It’s mind-boggling what these things do — with none of the side-effects of pharmaceuticals. If I wasn’t so busy learning about oils, I’d follow LJ’s lead and learn about herbs. I’ll just have to lean on your expertise, LJ. How could I have lived to retirement age without having a clue about EOs and herbs?
I forget to mention the older gentleman I met today who had been suffering from atrial fibrillation. At random times his heart would start beating super-fast, and he would just have to wait for several hours until it calmed down — usually in the ER, in case something bad happened. One he learned about EOs he was inspired to try something different. When the rapid heartbeat hit, he rubbed a few drops of an oil blend on his chest and inhaled a couple drops that he rubbed on his palms. Within 10 minutes his heartbeat was back to normal and he avoided an ER visit. Now he uses the oils daily, and hasn’t had a recurrence.
A couple of months ago I would have said “Placebo effect!” or “Coincidence!”, but I’m beginning to believe. Because the oil molecules are so small (much smaller than drug molecules) they can cross the blood-brain barrier. Within two minutes, inhaled oils reach deep into the brain and within 20 minutes oils reach every part of the body.
