Aha, now I get it. Is this the kind of sun damage that can lead to sun caused skin cancer? I know a few people that have that due to living in HI for decades. Haoles.

It can, my doctor that diagnosed it ten years ago said it was a very small chance that it would become cancerous. From Mayo Clinic: “Left untreated, the risk of actinic keratoses turning into a type of skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma is about 5% to 10%”.
