Can’t say that I’m completely surprised by this. I know that when it looked like his son could be a top-tier football player, Montana all of a sudden bought a place in the East Bay of SF, so his son could enroll at De La Salle HS, one of the top football High School programs in the country for many years.

Don’t recall if he got hurt or wasn’t as good as advertised, but Montana just as suddenly sold the East Bay digs, moved back to the Peninsula (south of SF) and his son enrolled somewhere else.

Ah, to be the 1% of the 1% of the 1%. Of course, then I’d have to be a liberal, wouldn’t I?

You’re right. Joe desperately wanted to turn both son into star quarterbacks and was constantly moving them from high school to high school to high school, and then, later, from college to college to college. Neither of ‘em were ever anywhere near NFL-level players. It was kind of sad, as they both kept doggedly pursuing their old man’s career path. As the saying goes, there are no second acts.

Not sure of your point. De La Salle is a private school. I’ll bet they would have been honored to have the local hero’s boy if they had a house in the est bay, or in Timbuktu
