Sounds like a sensible individual to me
Yes. What seems less sensible is hyper concern that his kids go to college. Except in hard science or engineering, Modern higher ed can be a PC-infused waste of time
I’d work for no pay if she happens to need a personal...well, a personal anything...lol!
It's the Kardasian Syndrome. They believe they can make it through life being famous.
And they're right they can.
There are plenty of mindless 'followers' who worship the most superficial people in the world.
>>>Unless I am missing something are there not employees associated with the university that accepted these bribes who should be held accountable?
Several coaches were charged as part of the case. Those coaches have been fired or put on leave.
Star? Ummm, yeah.
Of course she is an attractive girl, but we have totally lost our sense of modesty and perspective. We take an infinite number of pictures of ourselves. We preen all day long posting selfies on social media. The age of Kardashian has consumed so, so many.
There is no longer any sense of proportion. If there is no God, they become the supreme being in their universe. Sad.
She has 2 million followers. That translates into big money. She may play a dimwit on camera, but you dont stumble stupidly oshallowly into that kind of social-media success. Shes a far more successful entrepreneur than most her age
Looks like her education came from the bunny ranch.
Didn’t see your post before I posted previously. You are spot on!
The joke re USC is that it's a "pay your fee and get your B" school.
And, it's too bad that Olivia didn't have parents who set good examples, established rules and goals, and maintained high expectations of success.
.
But in a lot of these cases supposedly the kid wasn’t even made aware of the cheating the parents did.
More revealed about the parents, I think. (Other than yeah, they have stupid kids who can’t get into good schools on their own.)
When did Freepers start believing that modern, PC-drenched higher ed is worth the time and money (or, for the middle class, debt)?
Thanks. much obliged.
thanks
I can tell you right off one way these parents likely justify it to themselves.
Because schools limit their acceptances from any one high school, those in high-performance areas or at top private schools see that as unfair. Indeed those kids more likely need perfect schools to get into colleges that would accept their test scores if they were applying from some more average place with more average kids.
I question the application of Title IX and college admissions based on sports participation, Since the act was signed into law, some forty-five years ago, it has worked many unintended consequences, Athletic programs at all academic levels were supposed to be “equalized” in the support given to participants of what was then both genders, For one thing, the meaning has been expanded to mean there are other “genders” that have to be included, to the detriment of all participants, where biological boys get to play as “girls”, and mixed-locker room facilities, where you have female participants playing on the same team as male participants.
But one of the more pernicious effects has been to give certain weight on applications for college entry on having (fictitiously, as it turns out) participated in some sport or another at the high school level, with any number of persons “certifying” to the participation of the applicant, and giving glowing testimonials to his or her performance, in exchange for what can only be described as outright bribery. While it has nothing at all to do with Title IX, something similar has been going on in regards to ACT and SAT scores, with ringers sent in to take the actual exam, the proctors either uninformed of the substitute “scholar”, or again participating in exchange for an outright bribe.
*perfect scores*
high expectations of success.
With 2 million youtube followers, shes a successful entrepreneur. You sure she needs college?
Independent thinking people appreciate his willingness to resist this mental illness that the ruling elites are trying to impose upon the entire culture.
