Florida Hispanics are the most conservative of any border state. Most of the newcomers are coming from South America, and they don’t want no stinking Sanctuary cities.
New Yorkers have been in South Florida for almost a hundred years now. And I know of no influx of Puerto Ricans.
You are dreaming. Mexicans are streaming into Florida due to the booming housing industry. Huge influx of Puerto Ricans into Jax particularly on the west side of town. I had the pleasure of an all Spanish speaking crew at a local fast food joint for the first time in Jax recently. In a decade Jacksonville will be indistinguishable from the rat infested I-4 corridor.
I was in Miami recently and everyone was speaking Spanish among themselves. But they are middle-class hard-working people who are proud that they came here through the front door, not the back door. Many of them are actually quite wealthy too.
So I guess in South Florida, the Hispanics are more conservative and the non-hispanics are more liberal, with the opposite being the case in Northern Florida. I recently saw interviews with Hispanics in Orlando who are totally against illegal immigration.
I’d be more worried about Arizona than Florida. Colorado, New Mexico, and Nevada seem to be lost causes.
