Why do muslim elected officials spread fingers while taking oath of office?

Photos from the recent muslims elected to congress showed something unusual in photos of them taking the oath of office. Rashida Tlaib (D-Michigan) took the oath with her little finger spread apart from her other fingers. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) took the oath with her little finger and the next finger spread apart from the rest of her fingers.

I have been searching for what, if anything, this means and have found nothing. Do any Freepers know if this means anything or is it just a coincidental and unusual jesture?

Islam teaches that allah is the master deceiver so I always view what they say as possible deception and I think I am often right. DemocRATs also operate on deception so that is probably why the left has often sided with islam, from hitler to 0bama.

After some research and looking at the picture of Omar taking her oath, that gesture is most likely the Hamsa. The Hamsa represents the five pillars of Islam, whose practice is mandatory for Muslims.

Old-school German politicians - I'm talkin' 'bout in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s here - always held their right hand aloft as though they were about to karate-chop a block of wood.

Can you guess why German politicians wouldn't want to get caught on camera - even when only swearing an oath of office - with their palm facing forward?
