I disagree with the premise, that she didn’t know about the Twitter post.
She knew.
She and her staff had probably been having meetings on it to discuss how to defuse her stupidity, and her reaction was just obfuscation and deception.

There are times when I wish I had not closed my twitter account just so I could comment to these idiots but all I ever did was argue with total morons. It raised my BP and frankly, there is no changing their minds, just like they can’t change mine. A waste of my precious time I will never get back.

Rod should have been gone long ago. He should not have been allowed to hang around like he did. I have no doubt that he was, and still is, working relentlessly to undermine Trump.
Why Trump allowed this subversive cretin to stay in his position is very troubling. Trump sent the wrong message to a corrupt bureaucracy that there is no accountability. Consequently we will see this kind of behavior again, except that next time it might succeed.
