DNA tests have very limited use in genealogy. They may say that you have ancestors who are British or Italian but the test can't say who they are. You still have to do research to find their names. So much info is available on line, some free, some not free. Try a trial membership in ancestory.com or fold3.com. Additionally, I feel very leery about signing away my DNA access rights in perpetuity.

Yes, it is generic info and you give them your DNA. And I was advised a pharma company just bought DNA from a DNA-testing site to use for their research. hmm. thanks again to all.
