Establishing that cover meant doing a 180 on Turkey and Russia, which he did in a VERY PUBLIC FASHION, taking a trip to Moscow, writing a pro-Erdogan op ed, and seeking out Turkish and Russian clients looking to influence US forgeign policy.

AFTER Flynn had spent around 2 years pumping all his new Russian/Turk friends/clients for info/plans/contacts, he went STRAIGHT TO THE DIA AND BRIEFED THEM ABOUT EVERYTHING HE'D LEARNED.

THIS is very likely what Senator Chuck Grassley was told in this hearing with DIA personnel last year, and it's what he was asking Mattis and current DIA head Lt. Gen. Vincent Stewart, it's the 'key information' he was asking them to declassify in August of last year.

There's no other reason the DIA would be holding exculpatory evidence back. I also have my doubts about Flynn Intel Group being "lobbyists" - more likely counter-intel using lobbying as a front....it was a whole bunch of ex-spooks afterall.
