Several years ago when I started buying more on line...my mailman threatened me saying he was stopping the delivery of packages. He would leave them downtown for me to pick up. He was sitting them on the bench below my box. So I went to Home Depot and bought this large apartment box. Also keeping the bench below the box.
I've had several different mailmen since and none have approached me about leaving packages in the box or on the bench. They see I have made an effort. Sometimes they deliver my mail and packages before walking the street. The expense was well worth not having to drive several miles every time I have a package. There are only 2 walking streets in our subdivision. Hopefully it will never change.
