Kali really is a bit like the canary in the coal mine. It used to have a lot of influence on trends and policy making but that ended years ago but everyone is watching to see how far a majority leftist population will let their lords and masters bend them over before they fight back.
I was very surprised to see they got the people to vote FOR a higher gas tax but then I found out how they framed it in ads and the sheer saturation of the ads. It was framed like the people had a choice between fire/police/EMT services and nothing if they didn’t vote FOR the tax.
