That’s the path they are mapping for him, but I think he’s turned out to be too much of an impulsive hot head to successfully complete that mission. He’s not as bright as they thought he was either, which really makes him an unlikely long term candidate for their plans. He’ll go out with a bang, doing something evil stupid and public.

If my theory turns out to be wrong, a bright flameout would be nice. Perhaps at the 2020 Dem National Convention? Just in time to push a few more (R) candidates over the finish line?
It's good that Dems put so much at stake in such low-quality figureheads. It's not all that different from Republicans in the early/mid 2000's. Fun to see them make many of the same mistakes, with the same result.
