Ted Cruz was born to an American mother. He’s a natural born citizen and patriot in every sense of the word and I will support him to the hilt if he decides to run and is the strongest conservative running!! In fact, if that happens, FR will be Cruz Country!!

Go, TED, GO!!

FU Tokyo Rove, Chris Cristy, Jeb Bush, McCain, McBoehner, McGrahammesty, McFlake, McConnell and ALL GOP-e RINOS!!

The tea party rebellion is on!!

So I guess any children born to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry is natural born by this counrt’s reasoning. Let us suppose a tragedy happens, and Prince William and his childrenmet with some tragedy and Harry takes the throne, and then Harry’s son or daughter. Is that future monarch eligible to be President?

You can post that garbage all you want, but it does not make Lyn’ Ted eligible. And who cares what a court in New Jersey ruled anyway. And besides, in Lyn’ Ted’s case, were he to try running again, which I seriously doubt, he’d get a fraction of the votes he got last time, which wasn’t enough to be more than a footnote in the election anyway.

If one reads that ABC link, it says since the Supreme Court hasn’t ruled on it, it is not know if Cruz is legally allowed to be president.

Sorry, but the Cubenadian as president remains an open question.

Natural born or not, if Cruz had been the nominee, Hillary Clinton would be president today.

Many voters will not agree. I do not. Why do you think Cruz didn’t reveal that he was still a Canadian citizen when he ran for the Senate in 2012 if it is no big deal? The man was born a Canadian citizen and remained one until he renounced it when he was over 40 years old. How does a citizen of a foreign country for 40 years qualify as a natural born US citizen in your world?

If Ted Cruz is eligible, so are Anwar Al-Awlaki’s kids.
Born in Yemen to one citizen parent.

Wow, what a miracle of birth to be done without a father.

BOTH PARENTS have to be American citizens——NOT just one.

The kid can be an American citizen-—but NOT eligible to be President.

The prerequisite to eligibility is not a state matter it’s a federal matter. States have jurisdiction over who may be on ballots in their state elections. However, they have no say in the matter of eligibility on a federal level. State election winners to Congress have been refused to be seated in the past. This is no different.

As to whether or not Ted Cruz was or is eligible, the matter is not settled. He lost. He was born in Canada to a Cuban citizen father. As I understand this from over a year of reading and debate, if either of those nations made a legal claim upon him at birth in the form of citizenship then he was not natural born. If neither of them did, then he is natural born. Our Founders wanted no other jurisdiction having valid, internationally recognized legal authority over the President and Commander in Chief of the military. The logic of that seems plain to me, can’t quite figure out why it’s so difficult for others.

Seems I recall something about Mr. Constitution “forgetting” he was born a Canadian citizen. Well isn’t that something, wonder how he forgot something like that?
