During his application to the CIA he also admitted in a lie-detector test that he had voted for the U.S. Communist Party candidate for president, Gus Hall, in 1976.
Communist and socialist are insults and slurs way worse than the standard fare that the Left freely uses these days.
This is the Gus Hall who, as leader of the Communist Party USA wrote a book where he openly admitted that there would be a substantial portion of U.S. citizens who would have to be executed once the communists took over the country.
I read about that statement about his book in a source that stated that because of that open admission, the Communist Party had been trying to hide Hall’s book and would destroy copies and eliminate them from libraries. At the time, I was skeptical about this assertion and wondered whether the author was exaggerating.
I noticed that Hall’s book was in the card catalog of the Glendale, CA public library, but it wasn’t on the shelf. [This was in the late 1960’s.] When I requested it, the librarian produced a copy from a special behind the counter stack. I asked why Hall’s book was treated in this special way. She replied that books were kept “behind the counter” when it was determined that versions in the open stacks would be stolen or damaged. By keeping a copy behind the counter, the librarians would know who was handling it.
That experiment cured my skepticism! :)
